Another real icon has surfaced on James, and as is usually the case when it comes to McLaren, it makes us behave in a neanderthal manner. This time, it’s the very last F1 GTR produced (number 28th) that is turning our knees into spaghetti, the model which made its debut in 1995 and tore up the racing circuit for two years before retiring in 1997. This specific example raced at the tail end of the inaugural season of the FIA GT Championship.
The F1 GTR weighs around 910kg and boasts 600 hp from its destroked 6.0L version of the F1′s V12. It has a top speed of around 240 mph and reaches 60 mph in around three seconds. As ever with McLaren, it’s a pleasure enjoyed at a great expense.
