Not many can afford to have their own private island, but that doesn’t mean private islands are completely inaccessible to guests. Jumby Bay for instance is a lovely Caribbean isle, two miles north of Antigua, that offers lush accommodation to anyone who wants to experience its delights.
Jumby Bay is only accessible by boat and its 300 acres of land is sprinkled with luxury homes belonging to the several dozen owners of the island. Rosewood Hotels and Resorts manage the 40 rooms in which guests can find some piece of quiet and relaxation.
Since it has been discovered by Christopher Columbus in 1493, the island hasn’t changed much, as the human presence almost didn’t affect its natural landscapes at all. No cars pollute the atmosphere here, as everybody uses either bicycles or golf buggies. Nature and luxury join hands in a serene and perfect harmony.
When guests feel like getting active, they can engage in numerous activities like kayaking, snorkeling, diving, sailing, parasailing, waterskiing and more. When water sports are not enough, tennis courts, biking and hiking trails, and a fully equipped gym await visitors for some land fun.
